Solution for Streaming
Age ratings with
a real technical barrier.
The Lei das Telas (Screens Law) requires effective technical controls, not just informational labels. CPFHub.io checks the user's age range through the CPF (Brazil's individual taxpayer ID) in real time, per profile, with no reliance on a PIN or self-declaration.
The cost of inaction
A rating with no control is just decoration.
73%
of Brazilian children aged 9 to 17 use streaming platforms regularly, which makes effective age control an obligation at scale.

Brazilian families with children share the same streaming account, which makes per-profile control the only effective protection mechanism.

Industry challenges
Why today's barriers
do not meet the law.
Age ratings with no real technical barrier
Showing the age rating label is not enough. Law 14.811/2024 requires platforms to implement technical controls that block access, not just flag the restriction.
Parental control PINs are easily bypassed
Children find passwords, watch their parents or simply use another device. PIN-based barriers do not count as effective verification under the regulation and the ECA.
Shared accounts with no per-profile control
A family account whose holder is an adult can be used by minor children, who reach 18+ content with no barrier at all. The platform stays liable.
How CPFHub.io solves it
Every challenge has a direct answer.
Problem
A minor watches 16+ or 18+ content on a shared account
Solution
CPF verification is applied per profile when it is created or when restricted content is accessed. Only profiles with confirmed legal age unlock the higher age ratings.
Problem
A child gets around the parental control PIN
Solution
CPF verification replaces the PIN as the barrier to adult content. Without a valid CPF belonging to someone over 18, restricted content stays blocked regardless of the device.
Problem
The platform is notified for making inappropriate content available to a minor
Solution
Every check writes an auditable record with timestamp, CPF queried and result, documenting that the technical barrier existed and was applied correctly before access.
Legal compliance
The regulation you need.
The infrastructure that delivers.
Mandatory technical control by age range
Requires digital platforms to implement effective technical age-based access control, not just informational ratings. Non-compliance subjects the platform to court-ordered suspension.
Duty to respect age ranges
The Classificação Indicativa (Brazil's content age rating system) is mandatory for streaming services in Brazil. Showing the label without an effective technical barrier does not relieve the platform of liability for access by minors.
Compliance in processing the CPF per profile
Using the CPF to verify the age range is based on Legitimate Interest (Art. 7, IX). CPFHub.io provides a declared legal basis, data minimization and a documented retention policy.
CPFHub.io provides a declared legal basis and auditable records per profile, ready to present in notifications from ANATEL, the ANPD (Brazil's data protection authority) and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Screens Law caught us without a ready solution. CPFHub.io was the only API that delivered per-profile verification with acceptable latency for the login flow. We implemented it in three days.
