A Simple Lookup uses 1 credit and a Real-Time Lookup uses 1.5 credits. The price per credit drops as you move up the plan tiers: from R$ 0.19 (BRL) on the 100-credit tier down to R$ 0.10 on the 10,000-credit tier. Both lookup types draw from the same balance and can be combined freely.

A Simple Lookup returns the name, gender and date of birth for a CPF (Brazil's individual taxpayer ID) from the CPFHub.io database. Typical response time is ~150 ms (not an SLA). It is also available as a Batch Lookup: batch time depends on how many CPFs are in the submission, and each lookup stays in the same range as a Simple Lookup. A Real-Time Lookup queries Receita Federal (Brazil's federal tax authority) at the time of the request and returns the registration status, the year of death (deathYear, an integer or null) and the proof. Typical response time is about 1 second (not an SLA). To use it, you must provide the holder's date of birth.

In a Simple Lookup and a Batch Lookup, a CPF that is not found does not use any credits. In both lookup types, a CPF with an incorrect format or check digit is rejected before processing and is not charged. In a Real-Time Lookup, a date of birth that does not match the Receita Federal record returns HTTP 422 and is not charged. There is also no charge when communication with Receita Federal fails. A Real-Time Lookup costs 1.5 credits only on an HTTP 200 response.

Yes. Lookups that return a CPF with an irregular, suspended, canceled or deceased-holder status are billed normally, because that status is the result of the lookup (HTTP 200). In a Real-Time Lookup, a date of birth that does not match the Receita Federal record returns HTTP 422 and is not charged. The cost of 1.5 credits applies only to an HTTP 200 response.

On paid plans, the API keeps working normally. Overage credits are billed at your plan's price per credit on next month's invoice. On the Free plan, lookups are paused when your 50 monthly credits run out.

No. Credits renew every monthly cycle, and any unused balance does not roll over. That is why we recommend choosing a plan based on the volume you use regularly: the higher the tier, the lower the price of each credit. Starting with a smaller PRO tier is fine. Your operation is not interrupted when credits run out, and overage is billed only on next month's invoice.

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade from the dashboard, and the change takes effect in the next billing cycle.
